School Library Journal
April 1, 2020
K-Gr 4-Independent readers interested in learning more about space technology will be drawn to this compelling series. The heavy hitters (Rovers, Satellites, and Shuttles) are glamorous and sure to appeal to an audience of space fanatics, but the secret bests of this series are NASA Spinoffs and Space Tools. NASA Spinoffs in particular shares a variety of products (ear thermometers, memory foam, and wireless headsets) developed for the public after first being researched and made for astronauts. Spacesuits and robot cranes in Space Tools will amaze readers with how much work goes into keeping astronauts safe and working outside of Earth's atmosphere. Telescopes includes a large section about the Hubble Space Telescope and features beautiful photos taken by HST. VERDICT With clean, focused layouts and lots of photos, these books are exciting and informative. Recommended first purchases.
