Worse, his cast-off mistress, Mary, is determined to reclaim him at any cost, even if it means embarrassing Lester and Rachel in front of their congregation. Despite Lester's repentance, hotheaded Rachel risks destroying her marriage as she struggles with whether to forgive her husband, especially after the babies are born. Then Mary's sordid past catches up with her and she desperately needs Rachel's help. With an innocent baby's future hanging in the balance, Rachel must reconcile what she believes about God's will with what her emotions demand. Billingsley writes a fast-paced story filled with vivid characters, interweaving a heartfelt subplot as Rachel's brother struggles with conflicts between his beliefs and his gay identity.
