      A bloody Mafia murder leads to the shocking truth that a wealthy debutante is involved with the mob. This is the third book in Griffin's Badge of Honor series which features Matt Payne, a young police officer. Reader Michael Russotto uses a basic narrative style, and his vocal identities for characters lack distinction. He does establish variety by changing volume and pace, but at times his presentation fails to fit the mood of a specific scene. Although Griffin's material deals with tough Philadelphia cops, Russotto's gentle voice is very listenable, and the overall work is enjoyable. T.J.M. (c)AudioFile, Portland, Maine
