Frangione strikes every note perfectly in this steamy paranormal romance. He captures the all-encompassing focus Tariq and Charlotte share, making the rest of the world seem like a blurred view from a carousel ride. Tariq's voice is masculine and dominant but also fearful as he worries about his family's safety. Frangione smoothly shifts gears from vampire battles to Charlotte's soft yet determined dialogue. He lingers on certain words and syllables to communicate emotion with subtle mastery. The pacing of the final battle stays unbearably taut. C.A.
