      Franklin the turtle waits for spring when his new baby brother or sister will be born. After what seems like a long wait, the baby finally arrives on the same day a seed Franklin planted in school sprouts. The story is trite and the illustrations, though colorful, are bland. (Detail-minded young naturalists may wonder at the birth of a live turtle--no eggs here.)
